The Story of Chase Michael Muro
By: Alexa Gaudio

Everyone has a story that has been hijacked by his fiancée…
October 4th is Chase Muro’s birthday, and I thought it would be fitting to write a story about him. I am by no means a writer, so bear with me. It will not flow as smoothly as the last author, but nonetheless, it is a story worth sharing.
Without further ado…
Background
Chase grew up with two amazing parents and an older sister who took care of him and helped shape him into the man he is today. Chase lived in Camas, Washington, his whole life, building friendships and meeting people along the way who made lasting impacts on Chase’s life.
When Chase was in high school, his sister and parents encouraged him to take journalism as one of his classes. Chase was against this idea at first and even struggled his first semester in the class. One thing you might not know about Chase is he never gives up, even when things get hard. That is exactly what he did in this class. He kept showing up, kept trying his best, and eventually fell in love with writing and journalism. Chase has a gift with his writing and uses this blog as a way of using his gift for good.
One might meet Chase and think, wow, that is a really outgoing guy, talking to everyone, asking questions, not afraid to go up to strangers. This was not always the case. Chase had to find his confidence along the way. In high school, Chase was a shy, funny guy who cared about basketball and spending time with his friends. Chase's eyes light up when he tells stories about him and his friends in high school. Those friendships are something that Chase still holds dear to his heart. He still talks with his friends every day, even though many of them live in various states.
It was hard for Chase to say goodbye to those friends when it was time to head off to college. Chase went to Colorado State University and was excited for his freshman year. Only, his freshman year was not what he expected. Chase ended up feeling really alone at college and really unsure of his path. During this time of uncertainty, he would turn to an outlet he knew he loved: basketball. Chase would go shoot hoops and play pickup games with people on campus.
It was after one of these pickup games that someone started to tell Chase about Jesus. Chase was skeptical of this at first and a bit resistant, but curious. That curiosity kept growing, and Chase kept asking questions… mainly trying to prove this guy wrong on how Jesus does not exist. That's the thing, though. The more Chase tried to resist, the closer God was getting to him.
Chase went through a season of anxiety and depression during his time at Colorado State that was hard for Chase to navigate, unsure where to turn next or how to stop feeling so alone. In this dark moment of Chase's life, he heard a voice… it was God. Without disclosing any of Chase's personal experience, I will say this: God saved Chase’s life in many ways. God gave Chase hope and a strength that he wouldn’t have found alone. Chase decided it was best for him to move back home and live with his family.
Chase began attending Washington State University Vancouver, where he finished his degree in May 2025. During this time frame of coming home, Chase also began working at Orchard Hills Golf Course. This became one of Chase’s favorite memories. Chase met amazing people and gained a lot of confidence from this job.
In 2024, Chase parted ways with Orchard Hills and began working at a financial advising company called Aspire Wealth Advisors. In December 2024, Chase was given a phone number to text a girl that his mom thought he should meet. That girl (me) will eventually become his wife.
Chase has now passed all of his financial advising licenses and is beginning to work with clients to help with their financial needs. Chase got baptized and confirmed Catholic on April 4th, 2026. Later that year, Chase proposed to his girlfriend on August 9th, 2026.
Chase’s Trust in God
If I were to ask Chase what the most important part of his life was, it would be God. Chase is a man who shows God’s light through his actions. Chase knows that he is not perfect and that he falls short time and time again, but Chase trusts in God to pick him up every time.
Chase does not take anything he has been given for granted. He thanks God for playing a part in his life every step of the way. Chase says that “now looking back, it is so clear that God was there even when I didn’t know it”.
Chase is the man he is today because of how much God loves him. That fatherly love is what gives Chase confidence, peace, and trust that everything will be alright.
If Chase were to give anyone advice, I think he would say to give God a chance, even if you have doubts, even if you are afraid, even if you don’t feel “worthy”, to just take the leap of faith.
The People Who Shaped Who Chase Is Today
Michael Muro — I had to start with Chase’s dad, Michael. Chase’s dad is someone who Chase turns to when he needs advice on anything. His dad is always there, ready to listen and ready to help. Chase’s dad gives the best advice. It might not always be what Chase wants to hear, but it is always the best advice.
I see so much of Michael in Chase. The way they both listen to you like you are the most important person in the room, the way that they both put others before themselves, and the way that they will try to make a joke out of everything. Michael helped shape Chase into the man he is today.
Kristi Muro — Next is his mom, Kristi. Kristi cares so much about her kids, and she has always been there for Sophie and Chase for anything they might need. She would always go above and beyond for them, decorating for their birthday and making sure they always felt so loved.
Kristi taught Chase to be thoughtful when it comes to others, to never give up, and to hold yourself accountable for your actions. Chase truly has become a better, more reflective person because of his mom.
Sophie Muro — Chase’s sister, Sophie, taught Chase to always stand up for what he believes in, to be confident in himself, and how to be a good host when you have guests.
Gail Larson — Chase’s grandma taught him what things in life are true priorities. She taught him that this life is about spending time with the people you love and thanking God for everything along the way.
Colleen Lenard — Chase’s boss, Colleen, is a strong Catholic woman who treats other people with respect, care, and appreciation. Seeing his boss live out her faith so confidently is the reason Chase began exploring Catholicism in the first place.
Gary Sisson — Chase’s OCIA mentor, Gary, taught Chase how to live his faith and how to be a confident Catholic man.
The Man Chase Is Today
The man that Chase Muro is today is someone who I am incredibly proud of. Chase is someone that, if you don’t already know, I recommend meeting. Chase’s personality lights up a room.
Chase is the funniest, smartest, most hardworking, most caring person I have ever met. I feel beyond honored to get to call myself his fiancé, and one day, wife. My favorite thing about Chase is his confidence in who he is and his love for God.
With all of that being said, Chase Michael Muro, I hope you have the most amazing birthday today, and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you.
